@Wayne Brooks This isn’t a brand new thread but it’s a continuing problem that can have devastating consequences I was so alarmed at how easy it can be for this to happen that I just posted an article on deed fraud & what you can do about itIt contains some links to check your property & register your property for fraud alerts with the clerk's office’s in various parts of the country https://www.biggerpockets.com/member-blogs/14776/98707-is-your-property-at-risk-for-title-fraud-how-to-protect-yourself@Peter WaltherSeminole County, FL now has title fraud alerts available as well: https://www.seminoleclerk.org/...I've encouraged friends & family to sign up for these as well Unfortunatly Suzanne your article perpetuates the mischaracterization of forged deeds as title theft that I wrote about above and creates a market for the sale of title theft protection products that I believe are completely unnecessary and next to valueless.

Most of my accounts are within a quarter mile of each other and where my office & home are, so it's very easy to work them in, go and talk to folks, etc.I've also had accounts that are at places just one city over and it was a perpetual thorn in my side since it wasn't in my main sphere of location/activity.Once you find some that are recommended and fairly close by / convenient, some other things to check out are fees and online access, bill pay, etc.For example, I found out that one of my banks doesn't let me do mobile deposit through their app for a business account - so that was quite a disappointment. And if you might have several accounts, one for each entity, someday then fees across multiple accounts can add up quickly so keep that in mind.
