I am eager to begin investing in real estate but I'm not sure what the right timing should be.I got into a leadership program in which I will spend 8 months in three completely different locations (Boston, LA, Tucson).Would you recommend holding off investing until I find a permanent location or just jump into something if I find a deal in my current city?

First and foremost I want a GC who doesn't lie through his teeth to win a job bid or prevent me from firing him for sloppy work and poor leadership of his work crew.I want a person who says he is licensed,bonded,and fully insured to bring me physical proof of said items instead of challenging me,"Don't you trust me pal?".

We have interviewed literally over 100 banks to find the few that work well for us.Once you establish that relationship and start doing a few deals, even years into the relationship, be prepared for the bank leadership to shift gears and all of the sudden not do loans like you are doing and your financing goes away overnight.As such, always have multiple lenders because they may walk away at any minute.

Since the city finally got it's bankruptcy ruling approved, and the feds have dumped mega bucks into the city, and the city finally has a Mayor (and other leadership) that is actually business minded instead of politically motivated, (all of which is happening simultaneously for a reason), you are seeing a lot of progress on a daily basis...but, the only ones who see it are those with actual "boots on the ground".What everyone else hears is a rehash of the comments from decades of "deserved" criticism.
