Laminate flooring needs to expand and contract with temperature and humidity.

not worried in Charleston about rain.. all of ours are 6 to 9 feet in the air.. its just wind.and here we sit in Oregon complaing that the temps are between 75 and 82 all summer and no real nice hotter weather and the humidity has been too low.. so we can get some forest fires.But at least TESLA has come up big.. 

The house was extremely humid (and about 70 degrees), like running the dryer with the exhaust venting inside. 

This is in contrast to the bitter winter/humid summer areas of the country where you are a prisoner in your house 6-8 months a year.  

Summer started early this year and we could have nine months of 90 Degree days with sunny skies and no wind and high humidity.

If it was installed in the winter high humid months and nailed tight it will look better in the winter.

After taking possession the smell of cat pee is quite strong, especially on hot and humid days, with no diffuser to mask it.

After that you decide if you want the small town life in the Arctic (South Dakota or Alaska) the sun the beach and the humidity (Texas or Florida) or the dry heat of Nevada.

This is not unusual if you have a gas water heater or furnace in the basement. 30cfm seems low, so maybe it's for ventilation in a bathroom to remove the humidity?
