Is there some hidden cost/drawback I'm not seeing?

Thought it'd be a great way to test my ability to generate accurate offers but I guess not when you figure in hidden liens.

I obviously didn't recognize the hidden gem that is BiggerPockets at that time because I didn't come back until late last year when I committed to making my first real estate investment.

I’m re-educating myself and searching for the “gem”.

See if you can figure out what everyone else did.Every so often you might find a hidden and over looked gem, or see some value that others missed.

We just had our own personal door code and it makes us feel a lot safer with guests in the house.One of the best things we did when screening guests is we would send them a "welcome message" which reinterated rules such as-Don't park in the driveway-Take your shoes off at the door-etc.and hidden (smack dab in the middle) was the "secret code phrase" that they had to reply with to confirm they actually read the welcome message.

I am not saying you wont find a gem, but you can be sure much has been picked through already (unless they sell them auction-style), which leaves the properties that are less desirable, and plenty of these aren't worth getting for free!!!

There are lots of hidden charges that get tacked on in addition to what you see on price-line, kayak, or the rental website itself. 

The ones I've found for sell have utility liens and backed taxes on them, so I'm wondering if these properties would be a great investment after paying those liens off or if there could be hidden issues that would pop up and cost me more in the long run.

It's kind of funny to hear Calabasas/HIdden Hills being shouted out in rap songs by Drake.
