If you're only planning to hold this for 10 years or so, go for the cheapest way and slap foam board over the shingles, vinyl over that and wrap the trim in aluminum.

We have cleaned the walls twice with TSP and they still look terrible, hopefully the primer will cover up the brown colors and the smells.I also managed to get everything for the house ordered this weekend from door knobs, to flooring, to shingles, to bath tubs...

Anyone have any experience in changing the color of the existing asphalt roof shingles without actually replacing them?

Oddly enough I have gotten the best prices on roofing shingles from Menards.

They wanted to pay for damaged shingles , by the shingle .

Vinyl windows of the exact same size as the the window holes on the front (even if they cost extra, because smaller windows tend to make the house look downscale).I'd then have the upper shingle texture siding on the FRONT sanded and repainted white and replace the faux brick with Vinyl siding that matches the siding size on the side of house to the right.
