Pearl, Get creative, there is no need to wait several years to get the "nice" house that you want.

Both my wife and I are originally from Alaska, and this place offers generally all of the good things Alaska has to offer plus some benefits the Continental US offers.

But we want to be smart too... so any tips or tricks or hacks or pearls or whatever you want to call them that you have to share, I accept them all with humbly open arms as a fledgling REI student!
