As for your debt being like a domesticated lion, I prefer the analogy that debt is like a pair of scissors -- yup, it's possible to kill yourself with them, but if use them intelligently, you'll find them to be very useful with very little risk.Unfortunately, we learn in Kindergarten not to run with scissors...but we don't learn about the responsible use of debt/leverage in school.
