The result is outward population migration and rising crime.

Further, it seems to be popular for a segment of the population to “bash” formal education.  

Does focusing on macro trends (Population growth, rental and appreciation growth, good jobs) offset the 1% rule?

Hey @Matt Powers, I’ve lived in Columbus, OH, for the last four years, and it’s a fun city with a growing population and a strong job market.

Granted, at about half the population, but the difference is almost incomprehensible.

It's one of the hottest markets in the US right now with so much population growth, job growth, and companies moving/developing here (26B Intel headquarters being built here, 68K+ enrollment in Ohio State University, Amazon, FB, Google, Honda, Nationwide, Anduril, etc.).

Their is strong population and job growth in a number of Central FL markets. 

So, this really is a large portion of the tenant population whether its issues like this or others. 

Focus on job/population growth, zoning laws, and property availability to make the best choice.Good luck!
