Seller counter offered at $50k and I accepted.

Even if your agent can't structure the commission in the way that you want her to, she may present a counter offer that is equally beneficial to you. 

I should mention that the Sellers would want the language in the counter offer stage.

Was there a statement in the counter offer that requires a response within a certain time frame?

This can truly be put to the test when it comes to counter offers and negotiating repair items after an inspection.
