I haven't ever found an easy money scheme and in my experience when everyone and their uncle starts jumping on the bandwagon it might be time to take a step back and wait for the correction.  

I've actually looked into this and am deciding to either take this route or put 20% down on a duplex to rent out both units instead because I plan to partner up with my uncle.

Since they are 1099 independent contractors, payroll taxes are not paid by the brokerage so agents have to pay about 20-30% out of the portion of the commission they get to Uncle Sam for income taxes, depending on their tax bracket and individual tax situation of course.
