I am fortunate to be in an area where ,according to my local tax assessor, the property values are up 30% (I believe she is slightly delusional, but we certainly haven't seen the decline in other areas of the country) county-wide and there is a severe lack of rentals for everyone from vacationers to students to workers trying to be somewhat close to their jobs in the oil and gas industries.

Most people that have the brains and ability to do such a wide array of things well, and would be considered good hires (dependable, drug-free, drama-free, etc.) will already be gainfully employed or even self-employed.

I think you will get a wide variety of answers and you will need to sort out what works for you.From my perspective, it doesn't make sense to hire the people you have to settle for if you aren't paying enough money, because it usually costs you more in the end.
