Where's the best place to shop around for a portfolio loan (I'm in Colorado) and what terms should i be looking for?

Ive read I could be held liable for co conspiring to withhold money from other tenant if I don’t write one check made out to both of them.

When I was managing my own properties, I made the decision pretty early on that I'd rather rent to a blue collar worker than a Section 8 applicant. 

I own a structural engineering firm and co-own a design-build firm.

I am currently house hacking in Westminster CO and have a house where the basement has a 1,000 sq ft basement "mother-in-law" suite that has a lockable, entry door in the basement utility room. 

I'm a landlord in Colorado and in my lease there is a clause that covers this I believe. 

Don’t expect an influx of oil workers lowering vacancy anytime soon.
