This is purely anecdotal, but several friends in tech has moved further out to areas like Discovery Bay, Sac, Sausalito, Santa Cruz area, even Tahoe. 

People use Zillow, Redfin, etc.. for data on these comps and more; however, purely from a deal analyzing model you need the MLS.

There are some good reasons behind this perception as much any distances traveled by bus above say just 3-4 miles can have significant absolute deviation (traffic delays appear quite evenly spread across the short distance from these towns, not just "getting stuck in front of tunnel")That said much of Union City/Weehawken are impressively close to Midtown Manhattan from a pure distance perspective (within 3-4 miles) and most of Jersey City except Downtown can't hold a candle to their commute times to there in particular. 

I have to add other tech to my stack to achieve pure PM features: Trello for work orders, Dotloop for apps and lease signing, Rentlinx for listing syndication.

BUT, for those prices that better be the best tank in the world, made of pure gold, with all the bells and whistles (a new ball valve on the cold side, new flex lines,a new expansion tank, new drain pan, new copper piping to the heater, and a new re circulation pump).

Comparison is the thieve of joy.
