But if you stick to calling to buy their property you should be OK.If someone took you to court to argue that by calling to buy their property you were attempting to solicit them to use your service, you could counter argue that it would have huge implications.

Personal Capital is great for that, because I can just say that I own X shares of ABC stock, and it will track that stock and the value of my manually input investment holding.Both features are good for real estate, as you can input real estate values, or get "zestimates"  from Zillow for their value updated regularly.

Although one could argue that this could be offset by not having to pay the cost of snow removal, lawn care etc (for HOAs with low fees), I'm still reluctant to say it's a good idea due to the fact that HOAs are often unpredictable.
