LLC's as someone above mentioned are easily broken as most people do not do the appropriate meetings, record keeping etc.There are also tax consequences. 1031 exchanges are much more difficult from an LLC.

Does anyone just trade anymore?

A frequently asked question is “What expenses can be deducted from the exchange proceeds without resulting in a tax consequence?”

I can still trade public securities, but I'm primarily buying interests in apartment complexes and doing some private lending w/ these funds.    

The cap I look for also depends on what trade-offs are in play.

I'm not day trading here, so don't really mind delays of a few weeks, but if it starts stretching to months, I'll be annoyed.

Fannie Mae just traded at $1.01.

Or you could just go do it and see what the consequences are after the fact.

I traded a rental in live oak two years ago and have not looked back.

There's nothing that some stock broker can do in Singapore trading derivatives that can effect my portfolio as long as I buy right and am in it for the long haul.
