I owned a house in a HOA where the Board approved tree trimming at $50000 per tree - come to find out the tree trimmer is son of HOA President who doesn't reside in the community.This HOA has more bills coming.Can you sue?

I would talk to the selling broker, she would talk to the seller's son, who would then talk to his father, then the son would call his attorney and have a chat, then he would get back to the selling broker then she would talk to me.
