If you don't have that kind of time, or aren't willing to deal with the headaches that can come up, outsource those operational tasks to a property manager (fixing a furnace, finding prospective tenants, dealing with neighbor complaints, etc). 

Most basement guys I know are doing a job like that in 3-5 months depending on how far they take it and how many subs they use versus self performed work.

Besides looking for deals, my other major task has been to find the best food in my new town.

Just wanted to chime in related to permitting and architectural tasks. 

Rental related tasks are often a daily occurrence; definitely at least weekly.

@Patrick Menefee it’s touch on those situations, but here are a few suggestions;Cameras as you have stated, security company, guard dogs (there are companies that do this for hire), give a cop free rent for one of the units while under rehab, let one of the contractors stay while rehab is being performed. 

This also assumes only 22 days in rental and does not consider higher performance months during which occupancy rates exceed 22 days in rental.

And sign a bunch of extra legalese stating that GC is not responsible for anything that occurred as a result of work performed prior to such and such a date.You will probably find someone, but I wouldn't take the first anxious GC that comes along, because an experienced GC will be very leery about getting involved at this point (and they shouldn't need the work anyway)
