I had been expecting tax to go up, as owner occupied is capped at 1%, and rental/business is 2%, I had expected it to be close to what had been estimated at closing though, for 2018. 1. taxes are paid in arrears, so at closing I get a credit for the tax the seller would pay for the 11 months they owned it, I am responsible for the time I owned it. there was a huge discrepancy in the estimated tax. 2. they did pay that tax, the tax paid in nov of 2018 was for the tax year 2017 however. 3 & 4.

@Blake HornbrookI would definitely stay away from big banks such as B of A, PNC, Wells Fargo, etc. only because there is so much red tape around leveraging them to acquire income producing properties —especially in the beginning stages of building an RE portfolio.

My gut tells me to try and flip some median single family homes, build up some short term cash for my entity that i can then leverage to start investing in larger mutli-family/apartments than will produce cash flow and ultimately put me on path towards being able to leave my current career and fully delve into investing.
