Yes, there's a lot of theory and items in school that you learn that's a bit esoteric, but you learn something in every thing you do. 

She did provide me the details which I don't agree with.

If what it details is true, then of course you should address the issue.

I don't know......but I'd definitely try to check out major maintenance items: HWT, furnace, A/C.
