I know I foreclosed on a few and lost 100k.. from CA investors who could not cut it as landlords.. those same houses are now back up to 70 to 100k but still no where near their peak.. everything being equal though well place west coast rentals are usually easier to manage.. and you have the hope of selling them to home owners.. in the lower price point rental dominated areas of the US your only hope is to sell to an investor.. investors buy these just like MF based on return.. so your values are related to returns.. and liquidity in the market.
