GoDaddy (or any other) .com runs approx $15/year, Zoho mail will let you use their mail for FREE with your URL so you can have you @yourdomain .com from them for no additional cost, up to 10 users... heck they even let you customize it with your own logos and offer a custom login screen mail.yourdomain.com with your logo...

Telling customers something is illegal when it's against company policy is dishonest and bad business.

Building your brand over time will include logos, tag lines, marketing materials, etc., so it is great to go with a name you like and can see as a major brand down the road.  

However, he is a very good "customer" in that he sends me money every month (early,) takes care of the house and doesn't complain.
