I think family members have such a traditional mindset in the way businesses should be ran or how money should be made.

We have many tenants who are not Christian, and a Christmas gift could be unwelcome or, possible, insulting.   

It’s a little pricey but has the durability of tile and is much more waterproof than LVP and the speed at which it can be installed definitely helps the value proposition vs traditional tile.

Went the traditional route since we were buying to homestead.

@Andre Taylor even if you pay cash traditional lenders require you to own the property for 6 months before a cash out refi on the property.

But with an MLS listing you're in too deep to a traditional sale to try and avoid commissions and that seller likely isn't going to breach their listing contract just to hold the note for you. 

Mid-term rental or anything longer than a 30 day stay is usually classified under long-term rentals and would have all regulations that a traditional landlord would have to follow.I hope this helps! 

Luckily I should only owe $25 bucks a month....My 2 cents is.... just split whatever the difference is in rent, that way it's fair and it will still be cheaper for her than paying traditional rent. 

My advice is that you do have to be comfortable with the fact that you're not going to be conforming to "traditional" social norms.
