I thought I would give it a try and see what discussion will arise from a topic that is not common to this forum.As an Architectural Engineer that lives and breathes construction, I would like to see if investors know much about sustainability as a building practice.

I'm originally from the United Kingdom and now temporarily living on Long Island, NY before relocating near Savannah in the next few months.Once I move nearby, I'll be looking to acquire a portfolio of single family 2/3 bed ranches in A- to C+ areas (I can get far more specific if you guys need but thought that'll do for now!) 

I have been interested in real estate since college and have done a lot of research between watching Youtube videos, listening to podcasts like Bigger Pockets, and practicing real estate sales as an agent.

Most people fail in real estate for various reasons but a some is due to unethical practices.

My question is how do I relocate while trying to get an owner occupied loan, and not look like I have an unsteady work history due to quitting/relocating.

Do not put in a bid and then bail after you look at it, it’s a bad business practice and your wasting the sellers and agents time.  

I’m currently finishing up a spec house in Hawaii but will be relocating to northern South Carolina early 2021.

If you aren't comfortable going that route, go by a couple local Home Depot stores and you should find guys and trucks out there who can help (I found a handyman that way buying flooring one Saturday morning).If all else fails, there are apps (my neighbor showed me one called Handy) which you can literally book a handyman to come by and fix practically anything.
