Legally speaking there has to be a duty and I don't think the doctor has a duty to every single person in society who the dog might come in contact with.

You can look at what the Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) in that area based on rank and geographic area (just google BAH, Camp Pendleton 2017) this will give you an idea of what active duty people would most likely be willing to pay in the greater Camp Pendleton area. 

I'm active duty in the Coast Guard and will be moving to New Orleans in November of 2017.

Do any current agents out there have any advice or tips on how you transitioned from active duty to being an agent?

I happened talking with two cops who were on duty patrolling the hood and their advice to me was staying away as a new buyer.

They were both active duty military and had to be out of town a lot after closing on their property.

Time management is vital to sustained success.

It doesn't matter whether a property is right outside the gates or 500 miles from the nearest active duty base- denying qualified rental applicants based on their military status is wrong.  

In this case, if your city or county says an SFR is not be used as a hotel or for STRs, that is their duty.
