The highest and best use for your single family rental is to rent it as a dwelling, not as a storage facility, dog hotel, meditation chamber, or whatever other oddball deal we can come up with here. 

Charlotte's burgeoning financial and tech industries create a dynamic rental market, while Durham benefits from its proximity to top universities and research facilities, part of the Research Triangle.

I'm in the Tampa area and looking to buy a self storage facility or 5 :)  Although I'm not a seasoned self storage investor, if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know!

Would have had about 70% of the market covered with room to grow at our existing facilities. 

My partner said well, you won't have bathroom facilities in about 10 minutes because we're pulling the toilet and the tub right now.

Another option for low cost apartment type housing is to make very small units without cooking or bathroom facilities (though a chemical toilet for the privacy conscious might work and wouldn't take up nearly as much room as a conventional one does and cost much less without the plumbing and upkeep). 

Communal facilities would be provided in the building.  

Once that is determined you may be able to provide some cooking facilities but not enough to infringe on their silly rules.
