Plus, it would take months to get a city inspector to the property, assess the value, complete a report of code violations, determine the cost to fix those violations and make the house habitable, get the potential sale approved by other city departments, then have our application reviewed - the whole process could take six months or more which didn't fit our schedule and she said we were not likely to be approved.The Homestead program no longer exists and has been replaced by the "Homegrown" Program which has much stricter terms - few houses to choose from (less than 10), higher purchase price ($6k-$50k) minimum occupancy is 10 years, all work must be completed by a licensed contractor prior to moving in, applicants must be between 50%-80% of the area median income, etc.

I was more or less expecting this, as I closed on the property in December and the deed was recorded in the very last days of 2018.I called the AC property tax office on Saturday, left a message on their machine, clearly stated I planned to call them back on Monday.At 9:00 am today, the office called me up, figured out what was wrong, got me connected to the right guy in the department to correct the issue and send out the correct tax bill, apologized for the mistake.My legal first name is extremely ethnic and I have never gone by it here in the USA.

For instance, in the City where my rentals are located, there is a "Neighborhood Improvement Services" department and an online portal to report trash, noise, etc... which will eventually result in fines and additional legal action.I've had a noisy neighbor problem once myself, but it was tenants of another landlord, and we got it resolved between us.

I tried to do this with a property I have and it didn't work out but I think that is because I am out of state and tried to reach out to the police department as a whole rather than an individual officer.
