When metal is used for the dryer vent ductwork, the joints between metal sections are NOT to be held together with screws; screws protruding into the dryer ductwork will trap lint.

We have also gone as far to remove the slip nut traps and replace with solid glue traps, then you only have one slip nut at the top for maintenance.
