My realtor friends say that our market in town always slows down the 3-6 months before a Presidential election before roaring back in November. 

I got a 5 month window from them in part because they don't want the owner to start advertising it for rent or having potential renters go by the home.  

So, why is McDonalds still spending billions on advertising?

I know Gov Sununu wasn't a fan when it was hotly debated last year and given all the talk around a presidential run I doubt he'd be spending much time thinking about it now. 

We will have a website that grows as our portfolio grows, and the advertising will be completely online via sites like VRBO. 

the government response was the issue not the pandemic and we're too close to the election now for the government to try the crazy response, soonest another one of these events could happen then would be in 4 years for the next presidential election

As long as your applicant is approved through your housing authority to pay what you advertised your unit for and as long as you don’t broker a side deal after the HAP contract is signed for additional rent you are OK to proceed.
