Honestly, if you don’t trust them or like the way they are communicating I’d interview a couple more PM’s in the area.

Hey @Elisa Lisa p - its perfectly normal for a coop board to check all your financials and even interview about them when its time for the interview. 

Are there specific questions or criteria I should use when interviewing potential law firms to ensure they won't be as detached and unreliable as my current firm?

To directly answer your question- if your PM hasn't already taken action, fire them, hire an attorney to start the eviction process and start interviewing new property managers.

Start interviewing and get some reports from them on the market.Check Zillow to see how many listings there are and get a feel for how long they are on the market.

Definitely do your research and make sure to interview your PM.
