Having just spent a lovely weekend in Door County, Wisconsin and coming from the (comparatively -- okay, absolutely) pricier vacation spot of Telluride, CO, I'm wondering why such a charming set of waterside villages within driving distance of Chicago, Milwaukee, etc., should be so inexpensive!

All the houses in the area are around the same age and have lots of charm and unique characteristics.

Think about using thin stone to cover old brick it might add some charm to your project , and might be cheaper too.

I looked at WL a while back and found it to be a charming place.  

The building has exterior walls and windows, fire suppression, HVAC, elevator, roof, plumbing and electrical connections on each floor.
