However, there are a lot of "DR Horton Express Homes" that are being offered in the area, brand new for around $300k.

I'm a brand new REI and I'm about to put my first house under contract in Austin!

Would love a fresh perspective.

Just starting out, have been listening to countless podcast, reading other posts. I am gathering a lot of information, but trying to figure out which path to start on. My wife and I have thought about buying a vacatio...

If it's a short term rental/buy and hold I'lll still do the new kitchen bath and floors brand new like a flip. 

I can see the benefit though of a house with a bunch of kiddos.. with hotels its easy to know what to expect from certain brands.. not all hotels/motels are good either @Jim K. 

The space looks clean and fresh.
