Some areas are high risk but also high rewards.

They are only rewarded when your investment is not preforming but they are a necessary evil.

.- The swedish real estate market do NOT reward renovations, in terms of value adding, so buying something old and renovating it is a bad idea.I chose to not invest in sweden, even tho their house prices are much lower than in Norway for the reasons above.

Owning a home has its rewards, but it's also a full time job some people would rather delegate to a landlord.

Personally, I would say congrats to the guy for a home run deal and I would hope he followed all applicable laws in his state so he can reap the rewards of a great real estate deal

If the demographic, climate and economic trends that are forecaster the area continue, long term investors could be rewarded in a huge way. 

Buying pre-sale is a high-risk high reward.

Cash flow is really nice and a great reward, but not having great cash flow doesn't automatically make this a bad deal.You have to consider the savings rate you'll have once you are moved in to one of the units.
