An attorney should advise you on how much this protects your personal assets and what hoops you must be jumping thru.The LLCs should have documented the fact that they assumed responsibility for their respective portions of the HELOC loan.

You just pay rent - it's a great deal (again, in the short term) because of the flexibility.With respect to pulling equity out, it's definitely worth considering.

Betting on a strong dollar, lower asset prices, a deflationary environment, and locking in cheap assets with low interest rates by having cash on hand, good credit, and good relationships with lenders now is what I'm going to bank on.I know a lot of people don't agree with this sentiment, but each to their own and I respect all of your opinions.
