Does anyone know under the Fair Housing Act what our obligation as landlords is to accommodate service dogs and if we can ask for documentation to prove this dog is actually a  legitimate service dog?

We would like to do this as a legitimate business, ie: a partnership.  

I know he can sit and not pay rent and it could take some time for the sherriff to actually come get him, but I'm confident that he doesn't want an eviction on his record, as his credit is already completely shot and having an eviction on his record will prohibit any legitimate landlord or apartment complex from renting to him. 

That's what the county has, but to make sure if it's legitimate you need to request the actual occupancy permit. 

I found some are very legitimate and offer a good product with clear terms.

PS - Don't be shy about taking this deduction if you legitimately qualify for it.  

We're looking at some legitimate 3/2 properties w/out any funky additions.

In order to make sure you are not doing this they will (in all likelyhood) require that you owe a legitimate bill and they will pay that for you as part of the mortgage.

Sometimes it hard to differentiate between the BS and legitimate counter offers, etc.

.- Lack of knowledge - many people just don't know that there are other venues available to learn real estate & investing than these guys.- Salesmanship - these guys are marketers by profession.
