Such properties can be profitable, but it takes a special set of skills to manage the situations that will come up and potentially destroy your cash flow and/or the property.The strategy does not so much matter, rather than having a good team in place such as a very involved property manager with experience in class C/D properties. 

With that being said, taxes will change based off of time period and tax situation.

I'm slightly worried about the cat situation as it's quite inhumane, and I'm not sure what my liabilities are as the owner.

@Todd Dexheimer yes that’s exactly the situation I’m going for.

I see situations similar to this all the time, with various different types of loans and have never seen the loan called due. 

@Joe Kim Hey Joe, what are your thoughts on getting started with str's during this current situation?

Would a loan to the LLC be respected in that situation?
