Bring it up to counter height for more counter space  or put cabinets in it depending on what is on the other side.

Obviously they must have bought it at the height of the market back then and haven't made any appreciation. 

We tried getting them to look at 1-2 more buildings with a similar height profile in other areas but nothing panned out, probably because surrounding buildings were mostly just as tall or they already had good coverage.

That house would've probably gone for around 1.2M at the height of the recent market when rates were incredibly low.  

Greater Heights isn't bad either.

AB2221 also standardizes min height and front setbacks.Sb897 basically states adding an ADU cannot result in forcing to address existing issues unrelated to the ADU.

Look at the South Sacramento and Del Paso Heights areas, as it's growing, and with the increases in job growth in the region (i.e. hospitals, tech, etc.) it should be a good base to pull from.

If you upgrade tops and also have your installer attach a full height backsplash of the same laminate color under the wall cabinets it looks really high end for a value price.

We live on the eastern edge of it in Lone Mountain/Laurel Heights so getting downtown is pretty easy via the 38 bus.
