I have used Desktop and if you don't need payroll you can just buy any version of Desktop and use it for a very long time. the Updates for it are for new features and new Payroll Updates. 

I really like it and you can do a lower quality version right from your phone if you dont have the matterport camera.

Maybe there's something in there that could quiet my fears on the current deal in looking at, or let me know to look elsewhere.I primarily use the mobile version, so laptop might be a little different.

I'm still a QuickBooks Desktop version loyalist, but the online version works well also. 

The free version is fairly useless IMO but the paid version you can see specific properties and their T12 performance.
