@Nader Shariff is in NYC and his family has been investing in the city there for years, but I know he invests primarily out of state.I'm sure he'd have some great insights. 

In fact the family and I are heading down towards Munster to start our feelers today as part of a road trip, heading further east until Valparaiso to look at all the local neighborhoods. 

a business partner of mine was able to get a $50,000 no-payments for 6 months from a family friend and the remaining $187,000 needed for our portion of the loan down payment came from a business partner that went in on the deal with us!
