Six units is more work than one house.

Purchase price: $1,730,000 Cash invested: $560,00014,000 SF 11-unit mix-use building consisting of 2 retail spaces and (9) second floor apartment units.

Units are 1BR/1BA 500sf.

This is about 50 units - half traditional hotel rooms and half more studio/1 bedroom weekly or monthly rental.

So far it's never been a big enough issue for them not to rent the unit.

If it's a multi-family unit, even a townhome, or something that even looks like multi-family you may need to invest some money in updating the unit.

Finally, you can also consider house hacking, where you rent out part of your property (a room/basement) or a multi-unit where you live in one unit and rent out the rest.
