I don't see too much of an issue of negative cashflow when it comes to a house hack if your intention from the start is to treat a similar property as your residence along with your abilities to afford the expenses without any rental income as a supplement.

If you arent making generic market rates, you arent making money, and your money isnt working for you.Don't get me wrong, Id love to make money, but I only do one type of business, and thats good business.A deal where you are paying substantial fees and costs, and only making what would probably be 3-8k at best, well thats just plain bad business.

To help with your asset protection / estate planning strategy, you may want to adopt a more generic name for your entity such as "XYZ Enterprises" or XYZ Industries", and use "XYZ Investments" as a dba name.Of course, LLCs should be used to hold income property long term.
