I've been reading the forums, listening to the Podcasts, and talk frequently with friends in the area that invest so I've got a decent basis of knowledge but what I'd like is a post for other San Jose (or other South Bay Area) hackers to share stories, good, bad, and otherwise.  

This is partially in response to the fairly frequent threads in the theme of "I make $2000/mo in BAH from the GI Bill, can I 'house hack' using my VA loan entitlement?" 

So, this person is STILL on BP and frequently posted about partnerships, and joining their team, blah blah blah.

My main concern is the pool, most people doesn't have an idea what a pool maintenance is like, and if they don't do it frequently, its a mess to deal with it.  

I lived previously in Palm Coast, FL and would go down to Daytona Beach frequently so I am aware of the difficulties there.

Most people cannot afford to buy in San Diego so there is frequent "renter resentment." 3) Then there is just the general liability of people understanding you have wealth.

We make changes frequently, and also have our attorney review once a year to keep us in line.Second, yes, all lease/options, lease purchase, subject tos, seller carrys, wraps and contract for deeds/agreements for sale ALL have a time and a place, based on the deal.  

You MUST own.Think about the business model of a casino.

When I want that much risk I go to the casino.

Smaller houses are rented out more frequently but bring in less money.
