I'm just afraid of wasting time and money studying something that I end up not enjoying.

However, being specific about the apartment it self and then income qualifications should help reduce calls that waste your time.  

Well, for now, you'd do well to learn about self-directed retirement accounts and how to attract private lenders - anyone who wants a better return on their retirement funds than the negative growth Wall Street has been providing of recent, and they want it with less risk.For the longer term, learn about building credit inside a business entity.

Find out if the city of Kirkland will require for things like underground utilities, retaining walls, sidewalks, paved roads, etc.  

I called the County and there seem to be not permits for the unfinished large room, bathroom and laundry room on the ground level, but for a new slab and underground plumbing from 2005.We are thinking of buying the house and creating a studio on the ground floor and renting it out to a tenant.We have never dealt with permits, and we would probably hire a licensed contractor for the electricity, plumbing, heating, floors, walls and windows, but would do the rest ourselves. 

I think most people are wasting their life and they don't even know it.
