If it is a shed where people need not live in, it may work.   

I am also type of person who always thinks I know what I want and as I age realize things change - I say this because this would lead me not to want to buy a house now to rent to move in the future - I would look at it if it worked as a good rental and assume I would not live there and if I did later in life that’s bonus

I'm currently living in Crown Point Indiana and hope to invest in surrounding Northwest Indiana (Hobart, Merrillville, Portage, Lake Station) and maybe eventually the South West suburbs of Chicago.I'm mostly interested in flipping single family homes and purchasing smaller multi families. 

On a personal note, I enjoy the conversations I have with noteholders who reply to my marketing, and I enjoy being part of the secondary market which supports seller financing. 

All the surrounding towns are great appreciation but cash flow is definitely a struggle around here but if you house hack then you’re going to be less worried about cash flow because you’ll be living there.

Current Situation: I am trying to househack a house in Cincinnati as I have 4 people who have agreed to live in the property that I buy.

If such is the case, the tenants in the lower flat will hear the tenants in the upper flat walking around, and kids running around upstairs can amp up that noise.If the flats have a common forced air furnace (or if there are two furnaces in a common basement or attic), muted conversations will make their way between the units.

We have multiple properties rented to students living in different rooms.

I joke I used to be a normal person who could hold conversations about small talk like who won the Oscars or the latest in sports.
