Wendell, Fuquay Varina etc would likely be the closer options to Raleigh and still affordable.If you want to a place that appreciate well and is easy to rent, then purchase something close to where all the work / entertainment / shopping is.

With no entertainment there is a lot of vacancy.

I subscribe to Curbed Atlanta, they will send you some market tread and development news periodically that I find interesting and some entertaining. 

Lol........Oh kid..... it's almost entertaining watching you spin like a top turning blue sky to red, green grass to orange, and arguing how right you are.

Will be entertaining to watch these guys get cleaned out / start jumping off bridges when rates rise on their max leverage IO loans, pref investors bail, and their models' 3.75% exit caps don't pan out.
