Hi @Lori Allred, if you’re an accredited investor there is an investment product called a DST (Delaware Statutory Trust) that might be beneficial for you to learn about if you decide to perform a 1031 exchange.

I work in syndicated real estate and have placed many clients into Delaware Statutory Trusts in that market in 2015, but I also removed one property from our approved list of DSTs at the time and pulled $2M in equity into other investments after I visited it (which virtually no one in my industry does).

@Ryan ProkopetzI feel I need to qualify @Peter Crisp's portrayal of NB a little, but letting you know he picked one of the most challenging parts of the province (Bathurst, baie de chaleur) in which to invest (Saint John  would be next on that list).
