What I have done thus far:1) added down spout extenders around the house2) built the one side of the house with dirt3) for whatever reason, the holes in the croc were plugged up with cement and we removed the cement and installed a brand new high voltage sub pump.

If not a flood maybe look out for Chinese drywall if it applies.But I agree even a one house flood from plumbing OR terrain outside is possible.One time had a freak hail storm that plugged the storm sewers and then cloud burst a torrent the street backed up and ran in the basement windows.
