I enjoyed what I did building cool bridges and hotels, but I was not too fond of the daily in and our grind.Jumping ship has brought bigger challenges, but I am happier tackling them with people I love working with.With respect to real estate & being a landlord, it's honestly something I do NOT ENJOY that much either (dealing with HOAs, repairs, vacancy, etc.)...unless you can buy properties and completely offload the property management, which was and is hard for me to do with my scarcity mindset.

So if you are using brokerage account to buy/trade some stocks and invest in trust deeds - this might be a good fit.

The issue with doing this method is it takes more money up front for the renovations, you are buying older properties which may have more needed capital expenditures, and it takes more time and energy.

We supply loan quotes all day long to investors that buy & rehab 1-4 unit properties and 5-10 unit properties (including mixed use in all of those unit sizes).

There is business to be had buying owner carry mortgages and deeds of trust..

They can buy their own meal. 

I personally only buy vacation rentals in areas I want to take the family on vacation.This is not TX for me.
