Basically, renter insurance covers tenants' possessions.  

It is possible to become partial owner, in possession/control of the home and in control of the rents.   

I also filed a Writ Of Possession and had the Sherif come and remove all of his stuff , he had abandoned in the house.  

Do those of you that have rentals in states where weed is now legal allow your tenants to possess, use or even grow in your properties?

Another strategy is to buy a house that has not historically been used as a short-term rental but possesses all the characteristics of a viable STR... large, close to the beach, has a pool or hot tub, etc. 

Hello All,I am 24 years old from Calgary Alberta and just took possession of my first property.

I have also read a book on building tiny homes (which obviously is more complex than cottages due to weight / dimension restrictions but something we are considering due to potentially re-platting later if we can buy another property next to us)We've never built anything for scratch or ran utilities out and currently have to contend with only having a shared driveway (it's technically half on our property but goes into our neighbors backyard so they've been the ones to use it for years; there is no official easement but from what we looked up from their years of use it's kind of possession being 9/10ths of the law)Do you have experience building a backyard cottage / tiny home in Seattle?

Even in Colorado, there are still legal possession limits, legal grow limits, etc. and the state and Denver metro area are a hodge podge of local laws that trump state law.
