I'm not sure what happened with the furnace but luckily some sort of safety mechanism kicked in to shut the gas off.My concern is that if for some odd reason the furnace malfunctions again (faulty repair, or something else) that she will do the same thing and remove the alarm, not immediately call 911, and go back to sleep with her child in the home.

It had liens on it (child support, district court, hoa, which I was able to get them released) and it had a mortgage from 09/2006 And deed of trust said for 247,200.

I'm always careful not to use anything that would upset a child or perhaps even a spouse who doesn't know what's going on.I've almost had my butt kicked a couple times, too, when I was much younger and would just walk up to people's houses without an appointment.
