I bought a duplex off of an auction and I am doing a total rehab on one side while living in the other. 

If you won the tax lien certificate from the auction (with an overbid higher than the actual tax lien amount) and you wanted to foreclose to own the property after the redemption period expired.

There are a lot of factors to consider and a lot of moving parts to manage all while you have the ticking clock of the foreclosure auction.

If you find a group of people that want to rent the rooms, go with an auction.

What are thoughts about buying a property at sheriff auction?

My problem with that is that I purchase vacant lands from County Tax Auctions, that can’t be listed due to not being covered by title insurance.

Right now we are looking at over 400 homes a week through auctions and have been running comps manually myself using rpr and just the MLS.  

There is an interesting opportunity for an auction property.
